Bio

Dr. Joffe was born and raised in Wyckoff, and is proud to be serving his home community. After attending Ramapo High School, he graduated with honors from Union College with a major in chemistry. Dr. Joffe subsequently completed research at New York University where he published multiple papers in the field of biochemistry.

Dr. Joffe received his MD from New Jersey Medical School (Rutgers), and subsequently completed his internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at New York City’s historic St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital, now part of the Mt. Sinai hospital system. During his residency program, Dr. Joffe trained in orthopedic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and pediatric orthopedic surgery at the prestigious Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.

After his residency, Dr. Joffe received the highest level of pediatric orthopedic training alongside world leaders in the field, completing his fellowship at the world-renowned Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego. While there, he experienced the cutting edge of pediatric surgical techniques and research. Dr. Joffe uses the skills and knowledge garnered there to ensure his patients receive the most up-to-date and progressive pediatric orthopedic care.

Dr. Joffe is skilled in treating all pediatric orthopedic conditions, however, his areas of expertise include the non-operative and operative treatment of pediatric fractures, as well as the treatment of pediatric sports injuries, including the latest techniques of ACL reconstruction.

Dr. Joffe is well-trained in the treatment of congenital deformities, as well as complex hip and spine deformities. Dr. Joffe always prefers the most conservative and least invasive treatments when possible and appropriate for the child’s condition.

In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Joffe enjoys mentoring and educating medical students and orthopedic residents. He lectures at local hospitals, community groups and schools.

Throughout his training, Dr. Joffe authored multiple research papers in major scientific and medical journals, as well as textbook chapters. His research has been presented at national and international conferences.

Dr. Avrum Joffe resides in Wyckoff with his wife and three children. He is an avid Yankee and Giants fan, and enjoys delicious food, traveling, and a good sense of humor.
