Kayla McGovern was born and raised in Bergen County, NJ growing up in Oradell, and attending River Dell High School, where she played 4-years of varsity soccer and basketball. She then attended Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, MD obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology & Psychology. Kayla volunteered at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, which directly impacted her career path in the medical field. She continued to play club soccer and was fortunate enough to study a semester abroad in Newcastle, England. After graduating summa cum laude, Kayla compiled 3 years of clinical experience prior to starting graduate
school.
Kayla received her Master of Science in Physician Assistance Studies from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. She was nominated for induction into the Pi Alpha National Honor Society upon graduation from her program. She gained broad clinical experience throughout her rotations within Jefferson Health and with affiliate systems/hospitals (including Penn Medicine and ChristianaCare). Her interest strongly gravitated to orthopedic surgery as Kayla learned how she can make an immediate, positive, and lasting impact on the lives of so many individuals. Kayla is a board-certified Physician Assistant, who strives to provide compassionate and high-quality patient-centered care.
When Kayla is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family & friends, traveling, working out at Orange Theory Fitness, and binging Bravo.
